Here’s How We Have Helped Our Clients

Inland Empire Plumbing Company
A long established (second generation) premium quality plumbing company was struggling with profitability. They had been in construction plumbing for most of its existence and was now mainly involved in the remodeling industry. The current owner and business were living on credit cards and a second mortgage.

Obviously this was not a sustainable path.

We brainstormed with the owner the possible avenues available to him and determined that repositioning the company into the high-end, small residential development (6-12 homes) arena was the best possible course of action.

The company was benchmarked against similar local and regional companies in the residential development segment to establish the base point and for improvement objectives.

A Long-Range plan was developed – to provide focus – and a detailed Marketing Plan was developed to get the company’s name out to the construction players in this segment of the market both plans were implemented using both in-house personnel and our ‘Board of Directors’.

A staffing plan was implemented to support this new direction. Attainable and sustainable Goals and Objectives for the company as a whole were established.

The company has now achieved sustained profitability and is liquidating its debts. In addition retirement vehicles have been established for the owner.

You’re not alone, take some time and review the list of issues and problems our experts have found in your fellow entrepreneur’s businesses. You may find some of your own issues and problems in there.

Medium Sized Manufacturing Company
A highly profitable, yet highly centralized and disorganized organization had fallen on hard times. The owners – who by their own admission were easily distracted – were developing the next generation of products for the corporation and this R&D was draining considerable profits out of the company, while current sales and operations were being short changed for attention.

After discussions with the owners it was determined that their skill sets (they were both R&D driven and not business driven) were actually holding the company back from further success. There was no marketing, product or overall long range plan in place.

It was decided to ‘kick the owners upstairs’ as founders and co-chairmen of the board. A nationwide search was instituted for an experienced CEO to replace them.

In the mean time an Operations plan, including staffing, process improvement and quality systems enhancements was implemented to aggressively reduce cost and increase productivity through world class manufacturing concepts – Lean, Six Sigma and Total Quality Management.

A product introduction and global Marketing plan was generated and implemented to provide focus for the Sales and Marketing staff.

The company has found and hired its CEO and has launched aggressive revenue growth, cost containment and profit enhancement campaigns.  We continue to assist them.

Multi-Store Retail Company
This three store retail chain, after years of growth and expansion, had stagnate sales in two stores and decreasing sales in the third. The owners (wife and husband) were aiming for a comfortable retirement in five to seven years.

The POS transactions were examined to determine buying patterns by item, day, time, etc.

We devised a low-cost, effective sales and marketing campaign to 1) solidify the chain’s brand identity and 2) increase sales, both volume of purchases and the size of each purchase.

An exit strategy was determined and as such a search was done for an investor / successor for the current ownership.

The stores were reorganized and inventory was reduced to reflect the optimum stocking levels (as well as providing significant cash flow), while maintaining customer service.
